What is data? The era of data is here, a transformation of a dawning revolution.
Did you know, according to the 6th report by DOMO “Over 2.5 Quintilian bytes of data, are created every single day, and it’s only going to grow from there? By 2020, it’s estimated that 1.7MB of data will be created every second for every person on earth.”
Today we take a look at this ocean of data with all the kinds of fish. It is an ocean with sea monsters and the best fish that will save lives and are food for humans. Data is a double-edged sword that cuts in both directions. We look at data and how it shall help in solving problems affecting humankind.
What is data?
Remember when you did computer class, we’re given a description that data is processed information that is the short description of what data is. Data is the representation of facts, concepts, or instructions in a formalized manner, which should be suitable for communication, interpretation, or processing by a human or electronic machine.
Data is an essential resource in the current era data is the new oil. With data, problems that have affected the human race can be solved from climate change to chronic diseases. Due to the vast amounts of data created every day. A career in this field is a jackpot from the software used and the hardware.

Medicine is a huge sector and a very crucial in the case that without such a department the mortality rate is high. Data has led to the growth of media companies, social media, the internet just to mention, this baptizes data the new oil. data enables communication between people. in an era where data serves as an employer we are led to depend on data and utilize it to our benefit.

it was once said that “If we study learning as a data science, we can reverse engineer the human brain and tailor learning techniques to maximize the chances of student success. This is the biggest revolution that could happen in education, turning it into a data-driven science, and not such a medieval set of rumors professors tend to carry on.” Sebastian Thrun
The education sector is data driven and is highly dependent on data. it is impractical to learn without data. one can have data without information but no information is available without data.

Data analytics, Data mining, Data science are some of the careers that data offers, having data related skills in the current society is an advantage since data is an emerging technology.
